Experiencing the Sunshine Coast …
The BC Coastal Mountains drape themselves graciously around the communities on the Sunshine Coast, providing a year-round resort-like feel. A haven just a short ferry crossing away from Vancouver, the area remains quiet, calm, under-populated and totally scenic.
A quick visit to the Sunshine Coast easily becomes habit-forming. Visitors often turn into residents, re-inventing a lifestyle that truly combines the best of both worlds.
The ferry to and from the Sunshine Coast pretty much runs like clockwork. A sailing across Howe Sound provides a bit of a cruise-like feeling.
At the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal, the ferries connect with regular and express buses to and from the city. On the Sunshine Coast, good connections are provided by BC Transit.
Of course, road infrastructure is excellent at both terminals; at most times it’s very easy to just drive on-and-off the ferries.
There are plenty of bike lanes on the Sunshine Coast, many Provincial Parks and endless walking and hiking trails requiring various degrees of endurance.
Excellent coverage of what's happening on the Sunshine Coast is available on this website as well as on www.menno.ca; here are some "deep links" to several pages that may immediately interest you on that website:
